Everything residents need to participate in City of Meadowlakes elections — voter eligibility, key dates, declared candidates, and official election documents.

City Election Information

The City Secretary serves as the Election Administration Official for City Elections. City Elections are conducted in accordance with the Texas Election Code. The regular City Election is held annually on the first Saturday in May as required by the Texas Election Code. All municipal elections are publicized in accordance with the Texas Election Code.

The City of Meadowlakes contracts with Burnet County to conduct elections.

Qualifications & Requirements for Voting in Texas

You may register to vote at any time. Voter registration occurs at the County level by completing and submitting a voter registration application. The voter registration application can be obtained at the Burnet County Clerk's Office, 220 South Pierce, Burnet, Texas 78611, 512-756-5420. The application must be received in the Voter Registrar's Office or postmarked 30 days before an election for you to be eligible to vote in that election.

Election Identification Certificate (EIC) Required for Texas Voters. The Texas Election Code 631(b) requires a photo ID in order to vote in Texas. The Texas Transportation Code, Chapter 521A, and 37 Texas Administrative Code, Sections 15.181–185, authorize DPS to issue Election Identification Certificates.
